Referrals

For residents of Kingston upon Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire

House of Light offer NHS talking therapies to residents in Hull and East Yorkshire.  If you are struggling with stress, anxiety, or depression or, generally just do not feel yourself, you may benefit from accessing one of our talking therapy interventions.  Our therapists are fully qualified, registered and here to help you.

If you live in East Yorkshire, you can refer into NHS East Riding Talking Therapies online by clicking the following link How To Refer & Next Steps – NHS East Riding Talking Therapies (humber.nhs.uk) alternatively you can call 01482 335451 to book in for an assessment.

At assessment you can request your chosen provider.  If this is possible, you will be sent through and contacted by the chosen provider to book in for your first therapy session.  If you have made a referral to House of Light and are unsure about anything, please do not hesitate to contact us via email or telephone 01482 580499.

House of Light also run a free and confidential counselling service provided by student counsellors.

All our volunteer student counsellors are qualified to practice and are passionate about delivering the best possible care to you.  They are willing to commit their time voluntarily to enhance and develop their clinical skills.

If you are struggling whilst pregnant or within those critical first two years post birth, please refer to our service by completing the referral form. Alternatively, you can call 01482 580499 or email us [email protected].  One of our experienced counsellors will contact you to carry out an assessment and you will be matched up to one of our wonderful volunteer counsellors.

This project aims to offer people a positive counselling experience.  If your needs are found to be greater, we are part of a wider network of counselling providers and can step up to a higher intensity intervention, to secondary care or, we can signpost to other services which can provide you with the practical help you may need.  All decisions around your care will be discussed with and led by you.

We are passionate about delivering the best possible care to families who need us and are dedicated to investing in new counsellors to enhance the future experiences of our local community.
