Perinatal Support

House of Light offers support and counselling to parents who are struggling pre-conception to post birth. We offer group support, direct access into counselling and high intensity interventions on the local Talking Therapy networks. For more information on any service we offer please call 01482 580499 or email us at [email protected]. If we can’t help we will signpost you to a service that can.

More information on our current groups please follow this link. We are a friendly bunch and offer a warm and welcoming space for all parents to come along, make new friends and support each other on your parenting journey.

House of Light’s offers a direct access route into counselling. This is delivered by our team of final year student placement counsellors who all understand the pressures of being a parent. You will be provided with a warm welcome into a safe and non-judgemental space to process your thoughts and feelings. Should you need a higher level of intervention you can be stepped up to our high intensity team within House of Light.

A referral to our direct access can be made by completing the online referral form.

We also offer telephone support Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. Please note: This is not a crisis line. Your call will be originally answered by our wonderful administration team, they will take a few details and you will be passed onto a qualified therapist to return your call.

If you are experiencing an emergency crisis or require immediate support, please contact the Hull and East Yorkshire Crisis Team on 0800 138 0990. If you are outside of this area, you can go to the following website to find your local service https://www.nhs.uk/service-search/mental-health/find-an-urgent-mental-health-helpline.
